A word about SDTC Membership Matches....
Each year SDTC Membership Matches offer 3
opportunities in each venue
(agility, obedience, rally) to test the skills we've been training,
demonstrate
our teamwork & earn legs toward a club plaque/title!
Matches are set up per
AKC rules. Two legs at a level earns a club
plaque. If you would like to earn
a club plaque & titles your dog must start at Novice
level. You can enter
FEO (For Exhibit Only) at any level to practice skills but not compete
against
other dogs or try for a club title. Everyone should
please keep track of legs
earned with their dogs if you are trying to earn club plaques/club
titles, so
you enter at the appropriate level. Remember, SDTC matches
& club titles
are separate from trials & titles from other organizations
(such as AKC, USDAA, CPE, APDT, etc.) If you aren't sure what
level your dog
is at, ask & I'll check it for you.
One last note - It's sure disappointing when our
dogs don't do as well as we're
sure they should. Why do they have to make us look
bad? Well, there can be lots
of reasons for a poor performance. But I believe that our
dogs try as hard as
they can to do what they think we are asking of them - & when
our directions get
fuzzy, well, what's a dog to do? We tell them to pay
attention - we'd better pay
attention too! These are team events so lighten up, keep
learning & don't hurt
yourself patting yourself on the back the next time your dog makes you
look good!
Value your best buddy & the time you spend together - in our
imperfect world you
won't find a more perfect love than your dog has for you! See
you at the next match
