THIRD DIVISION
FORMATION INSTRUCTIONS
With the exception of the Fire Departments, the
above Division will form on Hawk Street with
the head of the column at Mohawk Avenue (Route 5). The Division
will move at the order of its Division
Commander with the Fire Departments moving into position from the
staging area on Mohawk Avenue.
This Division will follow the SECOND DIVISION at twenty (20) paces.
Fire Departments west of Holmes Street until after
FIRST DIVISION departs. Then move up and
join Parade in proper place as directed by Division Commander.
Participants are urged to go to
assembly area via Sacandaga Road (Rt. 147) and on to Lark Street.
That way you are facing the direction of march at assembly. Your
cooperation is appreciated.

FURTHER DETAILS *****
All Fire Departments will form on the South side of Mohawk Avenue,
between Holmes and Toll Streets in the order designated by the Parade
Orders and will move up to North Holmes Street (or to Division cross
street intersection) when the previous unit joins the Parade.
B. Leaders of all bands and organizations will, upon
arrival, assume their respective positions
according to the Parade Orders.
C. All units will be
in position at 6:00 P.M.
D. Parade
will move promptly at 6:15 P.M. (If all of the First and Second
Divisions are in place, the Parade will start at 6:10 PM. This is
in an effort to retire the Colors in the Park prior to dusk.)
E. The following distances will be maintained:
20 paces -
between Divisions
10 paces -
between bands and leading organizations in Divisions
5 paces -
between organizations in Divisions
F. Reviewing Stand will be located on Mohawk Avenue
just east of South Ballston Avenue. (In Front of the Scotia
Diner.) Bands and
groups are urged not to perform more than one minute in front of
Reviewing Stand and to limit demonstrations along the Parade Route.
G. When the head of the Parade arrives at the
Reviewing Stand, The Grand Marshal, Staff,
and civilian dignitaries will turn out of the Parade
and take their positions on the Reviewing Stand.
H. When each Division has passed the Reviewing Stand,
they will continue east on Mohawk Avenue to Collins Street, vehicles
will turn left onto Collins Street, marching units will proceed to the
library and be dismissed promptly by Division Commander to clear the
area for following Divisions.
I. PARADE
PARTICIPANTS ARE URGED TO FOLLOW PARADE FORMATION ROUTES AS INDICATED
ON ENCLOSED MAP. First Division - West on Glen Avenue, North on
Toll Street, to Mohawk Avenue. All other participants to go up
Sacandaga Road and form up on streets indicated and form up in
direction of march. This will eliminate confusion and congestion
as well as eliminate traffic control problems. Your cooperation
is needed.
J. PLEASE ENCOURAGE YOUR PEOPLE TO REMAIN FOR THE
MEMORIAL
SERVICES AND OTHER CEREMONIES TAKING PLACE NEAR THE LIBRARY WHERE THE
PARADE ENDS. THUS HONORING ALL OF OUR VETERANS.

Parade Formation Map
Participants of Division 1 and Fire
Departments are to proceed up Glen Avenue to Schermerhorn Street (west
of So. Toll Street and turn right onto Schermerhorn and right onto
Mohawk Avenue (Rt. 5). First Division on the North Side of Mohawk
Avenue, Fire Departments on South Side of Mohawk Avenue in order of
line of march.
Participants of Divisions 2-5 are
urged to go to assembly area via Sacandaga Road (Rt. 147) and on to
Lark (2, 3, and 4) or Vine Street (5). That way you are facing
the direction of march at assembly. Your cooperation is appreciated.
